Brown Bag Pick-up Time Change

Starting with our Brown Bag Distribution on September 20, pickup time will be from 12 noon to 1 PM. The truck will not be arriving here until around 11:30.

Registry of Deeds and Probate Court Presentation
MassHealth Recertification

With the end of the Pandemic Emergency, MassHealth is now going through a
recertification process.  If they have all the information they need you will be automatically renewed.  If they need more information you will receive a BLUE envelope with a renewal application.  It is important that you return the application within the time frame requested.  If you need help with the renewal application call us at  978-249-8986. 

Listen as the nuts and bolts on how the Registry of Deeds and the Probate Court work together for the residents of Massachusetts. Join us in a dialogue about land ownership and how probate issues can legally affect what happens to your property. We will provide introductory information and give an overview about Deeds, Homestead Act, Trusts, and Estates.

Changes to DTA/SNAP Benefits

Federal COVID-19 SNAP Emergency Allotments recently ended and on March 2nd households received their final federal COVID-19 SNAP benefit. You may be able to take advantage of a Medical Expenses Deduction to increase your benefit. Forms for this benefit are available at Athol Senior Center by appointment or online at:

North Quabbin Memory Cafe

“Coffee Connections” – This new program will offer a monthly meeting place for individuals living with changes in their thinking or memory, mild cognitive impairment or dementia due to Alzheimer’s Disease or a related disorder.

Department of Transitional Assistance Warnings

 The Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA) has issued warnings to DTA (SNAP) clients regarding skimming and phishing scams that have impacted some residents. For more information, see the NEWS page.
